We are retirees, 71 & 75, who sold our business in California in In 2004, we moved to New Orleans for the year round sailing. After Katrina and her sister, Rita, came to visit, we salvaged what we could and sold the house. We have been house sitting ever since.
One of our long term home owners had this to say: "It's hard to imagine that we could have found a better couple to trust with our pets and house for the 5 months we were away starting in August In short, if you're looking for outstanding house sitters, you have found them." We have traveled in Europe and North America and enjoy being able to stay in one place long enough to thoroughly explore.
We speak English and basic French, but have found ourselves able to get by nicely in countries where other languages are spoken. We have had housesits in different places, from North Carolina, USA to Normandy, France, and Cornwall, England to California, USA. All were enjoyable, as well as being fun places to explore.
We enjoy pets (cats, dogs, birds, fish, goats and chickens), also gardening, both vegetable and landscape. We are experienced at home maintenance and remodeling, having owned our own home for most of our 53 year marriage.
We currently share a home with our daughter, son- in-law, Malcolm the Great Dane and Roxanne the Sonoran Desert Tortoise, in Tucson, AZ. Our son has recently joined us, with his two dogs, Harken and Stone, so he may finish his degree at the University of Arizona. Never a dull moment at this household!
We enjoy birdwatching, reading, hiking, cooking, wine tasting and exploring new places. When we are home in Tucson, Bill is an avid bicyclist, while Mary works as a pet sitter.
Non-smokers. Good health. Excellent references.
We would treat your home and pets with respect and loving care. Happiness is not a destination, but a manner of traveling.
