We, Pete and Pam, are residents of the big island of Hawaii, but store a 4WD truck with camper in Reno, Nevada for summer excursions. Prior to moving to Hawaii we lived and worked for over twenty years in the Clearwater Mountains of Idaho.
We are well versed in mountain, and now, island living. I retired from the U.S. Forest Service (Fire Mgmt.) but Pam still works part time as a grant writer for a non-profit health care service in Hawaii. As long as she has Wi-Fi, Verizon cell service, and/or access to a landline she is good to go.
We have no pets or children and do not smoke or do drugs. My wife enjoys a glass of wine with dinner but I do not drink. We both enjoy animals of all stripes and through the years have had several dog and cat combinations. They have all passed on due to old age. We do miss our buddies but look forward to caring for yours! In all house sitting positions Pete would be the primary caretaker responsible for maintaining properties, tending to animals, and running errands as need be. After living in the woods the majority of his life he is very capable of operating power equipment I.e chainsaws, weed whackers, mowers, pumps, snowmachines, ATV's, solar power setups, and plenty of hand tool experience!
When we owned our very remote home in Idaho we enlisted caretakers from this site for when we travelled, so we know the trust you are placing in someone. Please note that we subscribe to other house/pet caring sites and that our references are not all from this particular site.
