I m a well travelled 49 years young German ladie.
From August 2024 I m fortunate enough, as a teacher to do an one year sabbatical break, to get into new experiences.
In the past, thanks to two other "Sabbatical-opportunities" I could manage to travel around the world twice. My way so far took me besides Europe to Africa, Asia, South America, New Zealand, South Pacific, ...
During my trips I also did some Volunteer work, f. e. teaching streetkids in Tansania, caring for older and disabled people in the "Mother Teresa Community" in India or (unforgetful!!!) joining in a "Puma-Project" in the Dschungel of Bolivia.
In the time "between" (and after) my two Sabbaticals I also did some "house- and pet-sittings" in Germany beside my job, which allows me some flexibility as well. Several times in the past, I could stay in friends houses during their summer-holidays to care about the family-cats and guinea-pigs. On another occasion I lived in a house as a cat-sitter for half a year close to the place I m working.
I have some experiences with dogs (I did some kind of a "summer job" in a Kennel in Florida, I am regularly walking dogs from a "Home of abandoned pets" in Germany and enjoying long strolls with friends and their dogs at the weekends, .. ). I am surely more experienced with cats; however my first "housecaring -experience" was an almost 4 weeks stay in Danmark with a wonderful dog suffering from epilepsy and a rabbit.
I love almost all kinds of animals (I m a little sceptical about snakes) and am very responsible taking care of their needs and habits.
Nowadays I live several months a year with my partner who originally is from US (who still has his base in Buffalo/Lockport, close to the Canadian border). We as a couple would be happy to care for your home and pets together if appropriate.
I would love to get the chance, to do some "house- and pet-caring" all around the world, to get new travel-impressions and experiences by staying somewhere for a while and get to know the feeling of "being almost a local" by settling (for a while) in a rather non-touristic or actually any place.
