I grew up on a dairy farm, worked in a vets during high school, and was hired as lead animal caretaker in college for a research lab studying squirrels and another studying birds. In graduate school, I maintained several aquaria as part of my research lab as well as privately. I have a BS and PhD in Zoology. I have had pets and gardened my entire life. I look forward to housesitting as a way to save money so I can travel more. I currently have two children, two cats, two gerbils, and a lot of plants. I am comfortable with most farm and domestic animals, except snakes and rats. I can take of those but will not handle them. I have been an active gardener my entire life and my own yard is 100% Texas natives that I designed and planted myself.
Summer 2024 I am looking for housesitting opportunities in Chicago (likely without kids) and around Madison and Western Wisconsin (likely with one or both kids, although they may be with other family). However, other locations in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Michigan are also great!
There are times when my two kids (16 and 11 in summer may travel with me, but not always, and they are also great with animals.
School year: within 4 hours of Austin on weekends, further away on school breaks.
Summers: In upper Midwest and adjacent Canadian provinces. Most interested in western and central Wisconsin and Chicago areas.
