| | | | Who am I that makes me a good house sitter?
I am a single, active retired single woman who
has owned and remodeled and cared for six homes
of my own over the last thirty-seven years. I
currently own a beautiful home in San Miguel de
Allende, Mexico, which I completely rebuilt
three years ago. This was quite challenging
dealing with a different culture, different
language and completely different building
materials. I have learned a lot through these
experiences and am, therefore, very good with
small repairs and diagnosing problems. In
addition, I have had my own experiences with
renters and house sitters in my homes over the
years. The four most recent experiences here in
San Miguel (ranging in time from six wks to
twelve wks) have been both positive and
negative, so I am acutely aware of the risk and
the responsibility involved in leaving your home
and personal possessions in someone else’s care.
In addition, I have been a pet owner most of my
life and consider myself good with animals. I
recently lost my six-year old cat to kidney
failure. While this has been a sad experience,
it has freed me up for potential travel
opportunities. In addition, my home in San
Miguel is up for sale and I am currently
negotiating with a house sitter for my home here
in San Miguel. Given my retirement status and
lack of pet obligations, I am able to be
flexible with regards to time and duration. I
am a non-smoker, a bit of a neat freak,
organized, dependable, honest, and believe in
open and direct communication. My children live
in and around the Seattle area so while I always
enjoy opportunities to be near them, I am not
limiting myself to just the Pacific Northwest
for house sitting opportunities. If you decide
to use me to care for your home, I promise you
will return to a clean home with plants, pets
and possessions in good stead. I look forward
to working with you and negotiating an
arrangement that will be mutually beneficial. |
