I live in Richmond, VA., in a small but lovely Arts and Crafts Bungalow on a double lot filled with my veggie, fruit, flower, and herb gardens. These gardens need watering and some easy tending, but mainly they will need to be picked to eat. I have two dogs, Kuba who is a 10 year old Basenji mix, and Beau who is a 2 year old black shepherd/lab mix. I have an easy set up for them with a secure doggie yard, and a doggie door. Their doggie yard is pea gravelled and easy to keep clean with my poop scooper. When the dogs are calm and happy, they just sleep most of the day and are easy to love and take care of. I need to be gone for two weeks in July, likely the first and second weeks, but the actual departure and return dates are not set yet. I would very much like to hire someone to house/pet/garden sit. The lucky person who I find to help me will have a great garden to eat from! This time of the year will be the peak of blackberry season, and it looks like I'll have quite a few to pick! And they are so delicious. I also will have about 40 tomato plants taking shape, cucumbers, zucchini, lettuces, eggplant, peppers, maybe some figs though it might be too early for them, and lots of herbs and mints. You can eat what you pick! My home is very peaceful, lovely, and private in an older, safe, suburban neighborhood in the city right by the river. It is small and easy to keep clean. I have two small house plants that will need some water. I have a beautiful park at the end of my street that has one of the best farmers markets in the city every Saturday, and it is a beautiful place to walk the doggies. Anyone interested? My hope is that I can find someone to work with not just for this visit but for the future. I need to travel about 3 times a year for 1-2 weeks at a time. I would love to find someone to work with long term.
