Located on the Mississippi River in southeastern Minnesota, Winona is surrounded by bluffs on both the Wis & Minn sides of the river. Winona grew by leaps & bounds during its logging days. Winona was "Millionaire capital of the US" in the late 1800's. Home to Winona State University. Winona State is the 1st university West of the Mississippi. Winona has a world class art museum with works by Picasso & Van Gogh, is stained glass capital of the US, has the Watkins spice museum, hiking trails, garvin heights scenic overlook, Plus much more. Stay overnight in our home that overlooks the main channel of the Mississippi River. Enjoy the gorgeous river views, Minnesota and Wisconsin bluffs, sunsets, and eagles flying overhead. Sleep in a king bed with up to 2 cats (Boots- black and white cat- will probably join you on the bed. Leo the tortoise shell cat enjoys sleeping on the cat tree). Love the 2 fur babies with plenty of pets. Cats self-feed. Just make sure 2 water bowls and 1 food bowl stay full. Empty litter box weekly. If it snows, u may need to shovel / snowblow/ salt/ sand up to 6 city sidewalks at rentals we own. Renters mostly shovel for themselves, but sometimes get sloppy or lazy. We always drive around a day after snowfall to verify sidewalks have been cleaned up so the city doesn't fine us for neglecting a city sidewalk. We supply everything for snow removal. If more than 3 inches of snow, we have a snow plow man who takes care of everything.

Head to Garvin Heights Park & see bluffs & river for miles. Go into Merchants National Bank, Winona National Bank, & Watkin's to see Winona's famous stained glass windows. Cities close by are LaCrosse WI (half hour), Rochester MN (1hour), Wabasha MN (half hour), Kellogg MN, Houston MN, and Fountain City WI (20 min). Tour Watkins Museum world-famous for vanilla & spice. Admire St Stan's Basilica- 1 of only 2 basilicas in MN, Built by early polish settlers. Close by is the Polish Museum. Walk around Lake Winona which showcase SugarLoaf Rock & the surrounding bluffs.
My house is close to everything that historic, scenic Winona, offers. Only a 5 minute drive to everything Winona.
Panoramic Mississippi River views everywhere. Our house has huge windows with views of both the main channel of the Mississippi River as well as the backwaters. We also look directly at Mosquito Island. Year round beautiful sunsets and lots of eagles and hawks flying around.
Non-smoker(s). Just u in our home. No pets. No kids. We don't pay you. You don't pay us. If u are the right person or couple, we have some flexibility in your arrival and departure dates. We leave for Florida on Feb 10th Saturday and return to Winona on March 13th Wed. We'll be gone 32 days total. We can have a friend watch our cats for a few days if needed before or after your arrival. We have Netflix, Discovery Plus, and Amazon Prime for your tv viewing. You'll have 1 stall in our attached garage closest to our entry door to house with remote door opener as well as a house key. Please note: we do have a security camera in our driveway and 1 in our garage. None in our house. Please no worries. We live in an upscale safe neighborhood that follows the main channel of the Mississippi River.
