I have a waterfront property at Port Stephens NSW. (See attache picture of back garden.)
No pets or children can be accepted as the youngest cat is terrified of children and would not come home if there were any around.
My cats and my puppy are my main priority so if you do not love cats and dogs, you would not want to apply. We have two cats, a ten year old female (neutered)and an nine year old (also neutered) male. The female has always hated the male cat which is such a shame as he is a very dear little fellow and tried so hard for the first two years to be friends with her. We also have a very precious little puppy who will be 11 weeks old when you start sitting. He is remarked well trained to an artificial grass litter tray.
We also have a small water feature that needs to be checked for the water level and the filter to be rinsed twice a week. This feature has small tropical fish (fantail guppies and swordtails), that require feeding once a day.
In addition we feed many wild birds – the lorikeets, eastern rosellas and galahs with seed and the magpies, kookaburra and butcher birds with cut up dog roll. The latter come from time to time through the day and whenever it is convenient, I feed them, usually at least twice a day.
We have a basic but fully self contained most comfortable flat, downstairs which opens onto a deck which overlooks the bay. This is where you would be staying if you were to housesit for me.
We really want a non smoker as we never allow smoking inside.
You would be required to mow the lawns as needed although with buffalo and the time of year which would mean that you would only need to mow once just before our return. I have pot plants that need to watered and weeded. Also weed management of garden beds within reason and raking of the lawn.
I have a regular couple who housesit for us sitting at present but may have to leave soon due to family needs so you would be taking over from them for the last weeks.
