House sit has been Removed, Filled, or Not Availablecontact other Homeowners
I am looking a single person or couple (without pets of their own) to take care of my home and two small dogs during the from February 17-March 11 while I go to the US. These days are firm and give me several days to orient you before I leave February 16. I return on March 11 and you would be free to leave on the 12th.
I live on the north shore of Lake Chapala, Jalisco, about one hour outside of Guadalajara. The international airport is about 40 minutes from my home.
My home is just outside the town of Chapala, about 4 miles east of the town of Ajijic. Lake Chapala is home to a large community of Americans living outside of the United States. In addition there are many Canadians and Europeans who either live here full-time or just during the winter. Lake Chapala is considered to have one of the most perfect climates in the world.
This is a chance to get away from the cold of the north to sunny Mexico.
I have a comfortable home with front and back yards for the dogs and a covered patio in the back. There is maid and gardener service twice a week. My home has satellite TV, tele service and high speed wireless internet. My home is very comfortable and includes a washer and dryer, though no dishwasher. The property is surrounded by a high wall and is quite secure. The only expense I would expect a house/dog sitter to pay would be any long distance calls to the US or Mexico that are charged extra to my bill. This includes calls to cells within Mexico. I pay the maid and gardener as well as all utilities. You would be responsible for your own food.
My car would not be available for your use. If you were to drive down there is room to park two vehicles in my gated driveway/carport. I live one walkable block off the main highway where busses run in both directions every 15 minutes. There is also taxi service available by calling.
I am looking for someone who would pay due responsibility to taking care of my home and dogs but who is not freaked out about being in Mexico. I do not expect a house sitter to stay at home all the time. However I would also not expect him/her/them to be gone for too many hours and leave the dogs alone. This is an opportunity for the right person to spend some time in lovely, warm Mexico. If you are that person, and have good references from past housesitting jobs, please contact me.
