Dear House sitters, Our home is a 10 year old modern, rendered house. It has big glass windows in every room - the front overlooking our garden, Geelong, Corio Bay and the You Yangs and the back views are of farmland. We are on top of a ridge so we have uninterrupted views all around. We are on 3 acres of beautiful low maintenance garden which in the winter will mainly involve mowing. We have both a ride-on for the grass areas and a hand mower for the house lawns. So we would like a couple who enjoy being in the garden. We do not necessarily want them to maintain the total garden but would like a couple who enjoy gardening enough to notice if a plant needs watering or is looking unwell and has some knowledge of how to attend to it. We have a vegie garden which can be left while we are away but you are quite welcome to grow vegetables if you wish and/or use what vegies are already in it. OUR MAIN PRIORITY is the care of our 2 cats!! Smokey (a Burmese) and Phoebe (a white long haired deaf 'princess’). Phoebe is about 15 y.o.... sleeps most of the time but has a clean bill of health. Smokey is a very active cat and also has clean bill of health. They have indoor toilets but mainly use these in wet weather otherwise they go in the garden. We must have cat lovers who are home every night to give them the pats and attention they crave and to lock them in at night to protect our wildlife. We sometimes mind our son's dog (Banjo) during the day while he is at work but Banjo goes to his own house at night. We sometimes take him to the beach for a walk but that is not necessary every day. Of course we will leave our house neat, clean and tidy and expect that it will be the same when we return. We also expect our possessions and furniture are treated with great care and undamaged. We are situated on the Bellarine Peninsula with its many wineries and restaurants. We are only 10 mins from a bay beach and min from surf beaches. There are many golf courses, 2 heated swimming pools, lawn bowls and croquet greens and tennis courts nearby. We are only 20-30mins from Geelong city... with its beautiful foreshore, theatres and shopping We are 30 min from Queenscliff Ferry which takes you across to Sorrento and the Mornington Peninsula. We are about 5 min walk to public bus that takes you into Geelong. We have lovely neighbours who will make you very welcome.
