Our land is a paradise for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. We are located within 45 minutes of three major ski areas in northern Vermont. We would prefer vegetarians or vegans (we are flexible) and cat lovers who must be non-smokers. Best for hearty persons who enjoy the quiet and solitude of rural Vermont mountains. Our cat Dobby is a lover who often craves attention. Our unique owner-built house is comfortable and modern with WiFi, Netflix, limited TV reception, large video choices, and an extensive library of literature. You will need a car suitable for winter driving. There are many cross country skiing trails on our 135 acre property. Your biggest responsibility will be to take care of our affectionate cat Dobby, water houseplants twice a week, and help keep our paradise secure with your presence while we are away. If you are experienced with tending a woodstove, you would be given preference since it is our preferred source of heat in the winter. Otherwise, you will be able to use propane fireplaces in individual rooms for heat and comfort.
We are 45 minutes from Stowe, Smugglers Notch, Jay Peak and other Vermont skiing treasures. Burlington is a little over an hour away. We do provide plowing, but you must be prepared to be snowbound for short periods of time if we get a February snowstorm.
This is a paradise for those who love solitude in a cozy place to read, write, create or simply hibernate for a while. Our cat will need fresh water every day and will ask to be petted. The nearest towns for restaurants, groceries and other amenities are about a half hour away. Sorry, we do not pay for sitters and are looking for a mature couple or a responsible single with experience. References are required plus an interview via or FaceTime.
