Two dogs, one cat and two birds are hoping for great minders to keep them company during their owners' trip away.
It's a pleasant little bungalow, relatively low-maintenance, a couple of blocks from the CBD of Ballina. The neighbours are nice, the location is ideal and the living is easy.
The dogs have some special needs. Both are rescue animals. Harley, a 6 year old dingo, had a history of severe abuse before he came home to live with us. He suffers from severe separation anxiety so it would be great if you could arrive a few days ahead of time so he can get used to you and you to his quirky ways. He's very easy to live with but you have to keep aware of his stealthy ways. Riley is a 4 year old kelpie mix, a true sweetheart ~ but was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer last March. How he's still with us is a miracle but he doesn't seem to know that he's ill ~ he's happy and joyful. But the bottom line is that the cancer could prove fatal before or during out trip.
Timon the cat lives in the garage. He doesn't trust Harley (nor should you trust Harley with small things or meat) but is happy out there to be fed, watered and loved a couple of times a day.
The birds (Smudge and Jack) are easy care.
I would expect our living situation to be as the norm with HouseCarers, you come on in, make yourself at home in this lovely location, bring your own groceries and replace whatever you have used while staying here. I will leave my home clean and the pantry well-stocked in anticipation of your visit.
As is normal, the rent is nil. Utilities (electricity and tele ) will be discussed prior to your stay. I have homeowners insurance but your personal items are not covered in the policy so it would be good for you to make sure your precious things have your own coverage.

I hope you find this to be a good idea for your summertime. It's a great spot and the animals are simply defined as loved and loving.
