Just hours northwest of NYC,, my home is exquisitely located on the upper Delaware River -- which borders New York and Pa. It is tucked into a hill with a creek running down the side. Most of the year one hears the sound of the creek, while witnessing the change of the seasons reflected in the woods and river .
The main house consists of a large, open, knotty pine living room/dining area/kitchen, with gas burning fireplace; an office/study and a full bath downstairs; and a large bedroom upstairs with a deck overlooking the river.
There is a sweet little one room guest house with a wall of glass patio doors opening to its own balcony, also overlooking the river. .
It is beautiful at any time but In the Spring and summer, it is glorious -- flowers and fragrances everywhere, kayaking, swimming, right outside the door, or just rocking gently in my hammock above the creek.
I am seeking a person to live in the guest house while sharing the main house with me much of the time, beginning this month until July 1.
Since I have family and friends in NYC and surrounding area, I would like to plan trips away from home, knowing my house and animals would be cared for. At the same time, the housesitter would also be able to travel and explore without having the full responsiblity for the animals and house.
Not the traditional Housecarers posting, this situation can offer the best of both worlds for the right person.
My pets are the following:
My very sweet, easy to care for, 15 year old dog “Moxie” (who, although not so moxie anymore, is in great shape); a very loveable 6 year old Border Collie mix, Fletcher; my new little 11 month old kitten, Millie;
Although in a rural setting, the nearby communities are rich with creative and environmentally concerned people. The closest town is 2.7 miles away.. You (My car might be available) My local newspaper featured a story about my house, including photos, which I would be happy to send you upon request.)
Looking forward,
Beverly
