In 2-3 years, when my partner retires, Taos will be our permanent home. Until then, a housesitter is needed. We come home 2-3 times a year, staying for 1-3 weeks. The rest of the time, all bills are covered except firewood and propane. Past experience tells me a deposit is helpful for damages and depleted wood/gas.
Keeping the yard mowed with a riding mower, about 1.5 of 4 acres and some houseplants. The place needs a mouser, so there's cat care. If you like gardening, some weeding and watering would be welcome, but it's not a top priority. There's a local man grows veggies in the summer and tends the irrigation.
The house is passive solar, has a young orchard, is near town but fairly secluded and quiet. 2BR, 1 bath, office. 4 acres with stream frontage.
My most recent housesitter and I just parted ways unexpectedly because I would not allow her to use my home to care for pre-school children for pay. (I was more than a little upset when I discovered that's what she was doing!) This means I need someone right away.
