My wife and I live in a 4 BR, 3BA 10 year old house on 4 acres on the Lampasas River south of Killeen, Texas. Pool overlooks the river.
We will be on vacation out of state from approx Memorial Day till mid October. We will be available via phone and via , just not in Texas.
Duties pretty easy - water indoor and outdoor plants when they need it, add water to the pool, forward the mail every couple of weeks and keep an eye on the house.
House is pretty well insulated - in the summer electricity runs around $300/mo. We would prefer to split the electric cost each month 50% (for house sitter using the A/C) and 50% (for us/owners for the pool pump, which runs 10 hr/day in summer.) We have hi-speed internet, landline phone and Dish network with many channels. We would be happy to keep this in place, but would prefer housesitter to pay costs of this - about $150/mo. Only other utility is trash collection for $36/mo, which again we would prefer housesitter to pay. We can stop both the phone/internet/Dish and the garbage collection for the summer if they are not needed. House is on well water (with reverse osmosis system for drinking - thought the water's pretty good tasting even without the R/O) and aerobic septic.
House is located 1 hour north of Austin, 3 hours south of Dallas, on the edge of the Texas Hill Country. Killeen - population 100,000 - is 20 minutes away.
