My wife and I need a sitter for our cozy 1 bedroom, ~600 square foot apartment on the third floor of a building with no elevator. We have two small dogs, so you need to be able to walk up and down stairs several times a day.
Our small dogs are a 6 year old chihuahua who loves to cuddle and a 4 year old chihuahua-mix who's a bit more active.
While in our home, you'll have access to our PS3, Wii, and Apple TV on our 42" LCD television. We have a large selection of movies to watch or video games to play. We have wifi, of course. We have a little patio with some camping chairs where you can enjoy the lovely Berkeley weather (and our smaller dog will *love* to cuddle on your lap).
The city of Berkeley is home to The University of California, Berkeley, so nearly everything you could need is in walking distance - including a Trader Joe's about 4 blocks away. We have a few good restaurants on our street, but if you go about 3/4 of a mile you'll get into the restaurants near campus, where you can find nearly any type of cuisine you'd like. Being a campus city, there are several cafes nearby as well.
If you need to park a car, there is street parking available. Officially it's 2-hour parking, but in reality I don't know how often they chalk tires. It would be up to you how often to check or move your car.
Dates: We have an early flight on the morning of Wednesday, September 17, so we would need you to come over Tuesday, September 16 in the afternoon or evening to meet us and the dogs and sleep over on our couch. We will be returning around noon on Wednesday, September 24. You can stay until evening if you'd like.
Responsibilities: * You must be able to walk up and down 3.5 flights of stairs about to take our two small dogs around the block 2-3 times daily and just in front of the building 1-3 times daily. * Our dogs need to be fed daily and watered regularly. * On our patio, we have a small container garden that would need to be properly watered. * You will *not* be responsible for utilities (but please conserve electricity and water, of course)
Qualifications desired: * Not your first time housesitting - please have references available * Experience with dogs (preferably with small dogs) * We'd like to meet you over Google Hangouts, , etc. if possible
Pay: We have a short deadline for a sitter, so pay is negotiable if you think that's fair.
