House/Pet sitter needed for mid May through mid June while I attend my granddaughters graduation in the states.
Small, comfortable private home in quiet neighborhood 1 hour south of Guadalajara Mexico. 2nd bedroom is small, used as guest room/office with single bed. Main bedroom has a matrimonial size bed (double).
We are 10 minutes from Chapala (the "county seat"), 10 minutes from Ajijic...a major active expat community on Lake Chapala, with many small villages in the surrounding areas. There are numerous opportunities to be involved in the community or sit back and enjoy the beauty of the mountains and lake. Climate is ideal year round, but rains come in May/June....mostly rains at night....so go ahead with your plans for the days.
House is one block from major carreteria where buses run along the lake route every 15 minutes. Cabs are plentiful and inexpensive. There are several active churches nearby and many cultural events, fund raisers, restaurant events, volunteer opportunities, chartered tours, etc.
My dogs, Honey and Ace are both chihuahua mixes from 10 to 15 pounds. House dogs who spend their time outside while you are away from home.(for the safety of the birds) Otherwise, love to be near you. Two cockatiels are new additions to our family. For now, they are not allowed out of their cage because the dogs are just too interested in them!
My housekeeper comes for 5 hours on Wednesdays to clean and do laundry. Her brother comes M/W/F at 8:30 AM to walk dogs for hours. The dogs LOVE to go for walks. The more the better. Excellent veterinarian and dog groomer nearby.
It is fun to discover all the unique places to eat traditional food in the area as well as popular restaurants accomodating expat tastes.
I have lived here 3 years and have only glowing reports of the area. I am 70 years old with some physical challenges, none of which require home accomodations.
