We are a responsible, active, retired non-smoking couple who enjoy getting to know animals and keeping them happy. We have owned several properties and traveled extensively, now saving up for our next adventure. We are comfortable in both cities and the country, love to ski, hike and read and swim. Isolated locations welcomed! We have several excellent references online available to send from recent housesits. We're practical people who have managed greenhouses and gardens and will keep things looking good. We have professional maintenance experience. Before retirement, Debbie co-owned a small business and was a telephone company supervisor. Les was in propane service and hospital maintenance. He can usually take care of most household issues! We have lifelong experience with pets of all types, including dogs and cats, birds (including parrots) and fish, rodents and snakes and geckos. We've cared for horses and alpacas, cattle, donkeys, sheep, cattle and goats and rabbits. Debbie likes to care for aquariums, having had them most of her life. Being around animals makes us happy and it's great to see them do well in their own home with our care.
We're both avid daily walkers and your pets will get the exercise they need. We'll take excellent care of your property, forward mail, etc. We can provide online references of recent housesits including one in Colorado in August 2015, several in Santa Fe, NM in 2016 and 2017 and California in 2014 with over 30 critters.
We love to travel and have found that housesitting helps us feel at home while we check out new areas. We're returning to Alaska for the summer (until 9/15) with our small trailer and welcome any housesits in nice areas to give us a break from camping. We don't usually charge for housesitting.
