Don and Susan are a young , married, non-smokers, pet lovers, semi-retired and self-employed as an artist and freelance photographer, respectively. For years they owned and operated the Dragonfly Fine Arts Gallery on the island of Martha’s Vineyard off the coast of Massachusetts from late May thru mid-October. They recently retired from the gallery and they have the freedom and flexibility to be able to sit for extended periods of time just about anywhere in the world.
They are organized, resourceful, trustworthy, discreet and extremely reliable and will provide you with peace of mind while you are away.
Don is a former corporate technology executive with an MBA who transitioned into his nd career as a fine arts painter about years ago. His work has been exhibited in homes, art galleries and corporate offices throughout the US. He is an accomplished coastal sailor and considered by all to be an outgoing, creative and multi-talented man. His gourmet meals draw rave reviews from all who have been fortunate to partake. Don is extremely well versed in computer technology, designed and developed s and can help with your business needs as well. He is a small business entrepreneur, has owned and maintained several single family homes and sailing vessels, served as Trustee for several years in multiple condominiums, both old and new.
He was co-chair of ARTS Martha's Vineyard Collaborative and was previoulsy a volunteer Medical Escort and Friendly Visitor for a large Elder Services organization in Boston.
Susan is a former Montessori educator and Executive Director who also changed careers to become a CFO / COO at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston , the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem MA and the New England Conservatory of Music.
After her careers in the Arts, Education and Music she went on to form her own consulting firm to serve non-profit organizations as a strategy consultant and Interim Executive Director. Most recently she has been serving as Interim Director of Fruitlands Museum in Harvard MA for a month engagement. Susan grew up in the mid-Atlantic states, receiving her BA in American Studies at George Washington University and her MBA from George Mason University.
She is an inveterate crossword puzzler, a birder, a lover of children, dogs, cats and all creatures, great and small. Susan has also owned and maintained several homes and boats. She skied for many years as a member of the National Ski Patrol and holds a brown belt in Tai Kwan Do.
Don and Susan both have solid experience in house and pet sitting and can provide appropriate references and be bonded as necessary.
They have adult children, and much loved grandchildren up and down the East Coast of the US.
