Quiet, responsible, 60-something yr. old woman visual artist/writer and college professor 70-something yr. old husband. We come with lots of experience and many great references, and lots of enthusiasm for doing a good job for you.
We live in Portland...but...have many family and friends in the Bay Area, so we are willing to travel there, so we can see them and spend time with them.
We have a tremendous amount of experience and always leave the houses cleaner when we leave than they were when we arrived. Most of the people we have house sat for have invited us back year after year. (We're that good!) ;-)
We have house sat and cared for people's pets for years and have only had one negative experience. (CONFESSION: My husband stayed in a house and mistakenly changed the cat litter every other day rather than every day.) Other than this one incident, we have had % successful homestays that are reported by happy clients who are very pleased with our services.
We do this simply because it gets expensive traveling back and forth between Oregon and California. Our house sitting experiences are win-win situations for all concerned.
We love animals and have cared for healthy cats and dogs, sick cats and dogs, parrots, goldfish, hamsters, llamas, horses, sheep, goats, pigs....you name it. We have a four pound, fully-housebroken chihuahua that likes to go with us, but if you would prefer we leave her behind, we have someone here that can care for her while we care for your home and pets.

Really. We can provide many references including telephone numbers that will allow you to personally speak with some of the people we have sat for. If you would like to put us on your "on call" list, we try hard to arrange our schedules so that one or both of us can be available most times, unless an unexpected conflict arises.
We have stayed in multi-million dollar mansions as well as small cottages, and have been happy and have treated everyone's property with care and respect. We have stayed in urban locations, in small towns and in rural locations. (We once assisted a horse as she delivered a foal on one of our homestays!)
