Dean and Sharon are a late-forties married couple with experience living in a wide variety of environments and homes. Dean has built an ‘earthship’ house off-grid in a remote corner of Arizona and has lived in Chicago. Sharon has lived and worked off-grid in the rainforests of Guatemala and Belize and also lived in Philadelphia. We met and lived in Phoenix and are currently returning from an eighteen month stay in Doha, Qatar. We are well-traveled in North America, Europe, the Middle East, South Asia and the Pacific, with family in the US, France, New Caledonia, and Morocco. We are a bit obsessed with new places and meeting new people! We have been homeowners, have sublet our homes, and understand the stress of choosing someone to take care of yours. We will pay meticulous attention to your instructions and needs. We both have experience with home repairs and navigating foreign systems in an emergency–your home (and pets) will be in well-trained hands! We have both been pet owners at various times in our lives, but are now pet-free given our semi-nomadic lifestyle. We’d love to temporarily adopt yours as our own (especially Dean!). Sharon would be very happy to take care of your garden, if you have one. We are both non-smokers, social drinkers, and drug-free. Sharon speaks intermediate Spanish and French, and her daughter is grown and on her own. We are U.S. passport holders and Sharon is awaiting the finalization of her dual French citizenship. We are happy to provide references and a background check. In addition to whatever chores you need done while we are in your home, we would be working on growing our digital business and consultancy (we are ‘retiring’ from regular employment in the museum world), so reliable internet would be essential for us and multi-month stays are preferable.
