We (Bill and Robyn) enjoyed a happy short retirement until March 2011 when a bank manager in a moment of sheer lunacy gave us a loan to purchase a house for our daughter and our grandchildren.
Bill, at the age of 67, had to return to work in an effort to pay this loan off before he turned 96!
After 3 years of hard yakka it is now time for Bill and Robyn to finally retire.
We are experienced and reliable house-sitters having house-sat a beautiful farmhouse on a rural property in Tennessee, USA in 2011 and several homes in Western Australia in 2012, 2013 and We have been invited to house-sit again at the same home in Tennessee from April 10 to June and again in 2017. Of course we were delighted to accept.
Bill is very practical and mechanically minded and can take care of most things. Bill is a retired company director and he was also a prison chaplain (voluntary) at a high security prison in Queensland for 5 years.
Robyn is a homebody and loves nothing better than fussing around the house, trying out new recipes, reading a good book and enjoying the quiet life.
We both love dogs and our beautiful little girl (a brindle Staffie) and our gorgeous boy (a red Staffie) are no longer with us. We miss both of them enormously and we would cherish the opportunity to lavish heaps of love and attention on your treasured pets.
Our own home, which is rented, is on an acre at Diddillibah on the Sunshine Coast hinterland in Queensland, Australia. Our home has tank water, septic and a swimming pool so we are used to living with pumps and limited water.
We enjoy quiet living, going for a ride on our motorbike and reading. We are both non smokers. Bill doesn't drink at all and Robyn enjoys the very occasional glass of bubbles.
We have cared for all creatures great and small - from gentle Rhodesian Ridgebacks to the tiniest Maltese/Shizhu you have ever seen, and cats that take a particular liking to Bill.
We are quiet living people. No pets, no kids, no parties guaranteed!
