We are a couple of active, outgoing, retired British ladies, non-smokers, considerate home owners and inveterate travellers. I have a proven record of reliability and attention to the details of owners and pets' requirements. Marion although new to house sitting is married to a hill farmer so brings a wealth of experience from lambing to working with their 7 sheepdogs. I personally have successfully completed a total of 11 house/pet sits in New Zealand and Australia as well as in the UK. I have just returned from a sit in Devon a return visit looking after two delightful young dogs as well as 4 chickens.
We consider ourselves caring and conscientious and have an empathy with all types of animals and are soon able to gain their trust so that the owner can see they will be well looked after during their absence. We will commit to your home, garden and pets in your absence as if they were my own.
I have experience with many pets - from alpacas, horses, cats, dogs, chickens, ducks and even tropical fish. We both grew up surrounded by animals which is where we get my love of animals. I also use house sitters myself as I have two dogs of my own so know the level of care that is expected.
We have a particular affinity with cats and dogs and several owners have been happily surprised by the rapport quickly achieve where previously they were very wary of visitors. I have worked with greyhounds in New Zealand and we both have enjoyed horse riding in our younger days so have experience with animals both large and small.
I am a retired civil servant/secretary with a service background and have a police clearance certificate. Additional referee contacts can be made available on request and I welcome personal contact via , phone or so that you can better establish a more personalised and detailed character check. I can be contacted on and will be able to send you photographs of the many charges that have been under my care.
