Small rustic century home in the country approximately one hour northeast of Toronto, Canada's largest city, and just minutes by car to amenities. Take lovely leisurely walks along quiet country roads to enjoy Nature, or drive 10 minutes to the lakeshore. Greenwood Conservation area, with walking trails, is nearby as well as the Pickering Heritage Museum where volunteers dressed in pioneer costume conduct tours, demonstrations and workshops on select dates. A car will be essential to get around as public transit service ends 4-5km south of the house. I am looking for a mature, tidy non-smoker, and preferably non-drinker, who adores cats. Police report and references are essential. Responsibilities will include keeping the house clean; collecting the mail; feeding, cuddling, and pampering my beloved kitties. They thrive on interacting with human company during the day, and will love to sleep with you at night. Lawn cutting is by contract, but it may need to be raked occasionally. The cats are on a raw diet, and will need the meat to be prepared and put out for short periods of time every 4-6hr. Additionally, one of them is taking some meds by dropper with meals. They sometimes need encouragement to eat, as they were trained to eat only when invited. There is no Cable TV here, but an internet connection is available. You will need to bring your own laptop and cellphone for communication as there is no land line or desktop here. I can provide a single mattress and bedframe, or a queen sized mattress on carpeted floor. The bathroom is downstairs.
