My partner and I have been together for 15 years and are excited about taking time to experience some new places. We originate from the UK and lived in Canada for 9 years. We fell in love with the outdoor life so in the winter you find us skiing and in the summer hiking, mountain-biking & camping. We both work hard as I am a software project manager and my partner is a Carpenter. We are non-smokers and vegetarian and enjoy photography, making music. We are both runners (when the knees can take it) and I practice yoga most days. We are flexible on where we go and would consider other locations if the timing worked for us.
We garden too (it’s in the blood coming from a temperate climate) – and your house plants would be well tended for!
We are softies when it comes to animals so your pets would get a lot of love and care.
House-sitting provides us with a way of really feeling like a local and not staying in hotels while we experience new countries and places. We also love the opportunity of finding a place that is unexpected and are open to places we don't know much about. We are taking 6 months off to spend time making music (from our computers) and for me I would like to get deeper into my passion for yoga. Staying in a location that has a great yoga studio nearby would be great but not essential. We have traveled together all over the world and think that house-sitting offers a unique way of really experiencing a community.
We dog sit for one of our neighbors and now the dog thinks we are part if his extended family. Even saying our names is has him jumping up and wagging his tail. We also look after our friends cats one of which has medical issues. We have looked after friends homes when they go on holiday and stay to look after their cat.
We keep a very clean and tidy home and always treat other people's homes with respect.
We are a good combination of well organized (I am a software project manager) and very handy (my partner is a carpenter/handyman) - he really can fix most things. As a kid I had 7 cats and 2 dogs most of which were found or deposited on our doorstep as we were known as a family who loved animals. My partner and I have had 3 cats over the years together and have loved them dearly.
