We are both very active retired teachers who love to be busy. We would love to take care of your home and pets so we can experience different parts of Colorado. We have children and hopefully grandchildren in the near future in Colorado so we would be very happy to stay in a house for a week or a month, giving us a chance to visit with them for a length of time, without being in their way. We would love to take pets for walks or play catch with dogs since it would give us a way to be outside and to exercise. It would work well for both!
We have had dogs, Morgan horses, chickens, and Suffolk sheep on our small farm. We've always been very close to our animals, even helping many young lambs be born on frigid winter mornings in the barn. We always felt best about leaving our animals when we had someone stay with them here at the house. We knew they weren't going to be lonely, forgotten, or caged up. That's why house sitting seems like a good option to us. It's good for both groups.
Both of us taught in the elementary school and we both have a wide variety of interests, from doing puzzles to studying the geology of an area. My husband is very into forestry, and knows a great deal about trees and forest products. I am interested in every kind of garden, whether it's flowers or vegetables. We are both very neat and organized, keeping our house attractive and comfortable.
As mature, reliable respectful adults, we realize how much you value your home and your pets. We would welcome the opportunity to care for them so that we can visit our children (and hopefully grandchildren, too) in Colorado. It would be a great situation for all of us!
