I am a New Zealand artist who is developing a location-based audio installation work and events to be held at the MCA and at the Sydney harbourfront in June.
To have a home to go to in Sydney during the installation period would be SO much nicer than staying in a hotel, so I thought I'd see if I could find a house-sit.
I am house-proud and an animal lover (a farm girl originally) so any pets will be taken very good care of and would be great company for me. We've two cats at home and I grew up with lots of dogs.
I'm very practised at looking after gardens and homes due to taking care of our family farmstead property and its large garden for the last 5 years. I'm very reliable, honest and security conscious so have happily house-sat many times before, and can provide references or contacts as needed. Also a non-smoker.
Happy to talk anytime by so we can get a sense for one another. For your interest the link provided (not sure where it displays) is the work I will be developing/installing in May/June. So my ideal timing would be mid-May to early June, and somewhere within two stages of public transport to the centre/harbour. Though I am flexible on both of the above (dates, location).
As an independent artist I'd be extremely grateful for the help in terms of saving on accommodation costs, and to have an abode while there. You'd definitely have your home and pets be super-well looked after and I'd love to give you your own personal tour of the artwork upon your return!
