Cat loving academic couple from Sweden will give your pets very much TLC!
We are a married couple from Stockholm, Sweden with our own company, working mainly with linguistics and typography (translation, proofreading, terminology, font design, etc.), which is work that is geographically independent so we can live anywhere - an ideal situation when you love to travel! I (Madeleine) have also been living abroad for over ten years; in France, Finland and Germany.
Our main hobbies are history, archeology, art, books, films, music, theater, and much more within the concept of "culture". Sports are not really our thing, but I do love swimming. We are vegetarians and non-smokers, reliable and peaceful, definitely not the party kind. We don't have any children.
We both love animals and I am passionate about cats - I have had cats most of my life. We find pet sitting to be a fantastic possibility to combine our love for animals with our wish to visit other countries. You can rest assured that we will take care of your pets and your home in the very best way - we will give your pets all our love, affection and attention. Moreover, we are both certified reiki healers, so if your pets need it, we can give them healing.
When we became members here we didn't have any pets of our own (my last cat had died at the age of 19), and we were traveling most of the year. Now we have cats again, which means that we can't house sit as often as before - and that we ourselves will need a cat sitter every time we house sit.
I have an almost life long experience with house and pet sitting in people's homes, and with having people house and cat sit in my home. As a cat owner I know that the by far biggest problem is to find a good and reliable cat sitter every time you are going away, so I know exactly how important it is.
We are also members of and , plus the home exchange sites HomeExchange, Intervac and HomeLink. Through these sites we have made over 20 home exchanges and pet sittings since 2013.
Being a linguist, I have studied several languages. I'm fluent in English, German, Norwegian, Danish and Finnish, I speak French well, my Czech is a bit rusty, and I have a more passive understanding of Spanish, Italian and Dutch (which means I can understand them written and spoken but have little active command of them).
