Introduction We are well-travelled, active, educated, non-smoking and responsible home owners available to take care of your home, pets, property and plants while you are away. We have professional backgrounds in senior positions with multi-national organizations and have moved away from the "typical" work week by combining our passions: traveling, business consulting, and online coaching.
We believe in combining dedication and attention with love of life. We will provide great care and commitment to any assignment we undertake. We do prefer long term housesits of at least one month in length and are happy to extend our business operations, management and development skills if you equally have a need.
Why we want to housesit We believe that we only have one life to live. We enjoy experiencing diverse cultures and believe variety is the spice to creativity. This allows us to feel like we are always learning and providing more flavour to our interactions with people (be they professional, personal, social or simply random).
We are looking to settle in Europe, closer to Kjell's family. Since we're not certain which country to call "home" quite yet, we're offering our services in exchange for the experience of living in diverse areas in Europe.
What we bring to the assignment / relevant experience We currently own a home in Canada and have owned property and homes for over 20 years. In so doing, we have developed extensive personal experience in caring, maintaining, renovating, and managing all issues that arise from general use of a household, as well as management of contractors, tenants, and legal/governmental aspects that may arise.
We started housesitting in December 2013 in order to facilitate our transition from North America to Europe. In so doing, we have had the opportunity to care for beautiful pets and homes in the following areas:
* Vancouver, CANADA. Caring for Little Girl (Cat) & Leo (Dog). Watching and Cleaning the house. * Powell River, CANADA. Overseeing Properties and Painting of studio. * Bainbridge Island, USA. Caring for Zeke & Annie, two lovely Norwegian Forest Cats. * Charente-Maritime, FRANCE. 3 months (ongoing)
A little more about us: - We are a tidy, organized, diligent, extremely clean, resourceful couple and are happy to extend these traits to your home. - We are health-conscious, non-smoking, and enjoy an excellent glass of wine only occasionally. - As homeowners (currently in Montreal, Qc), we have solid experience with daily household maintenance and gardening. - We have extensive personal experience overseeing contractors, and personally doing full-on renovations and property management. - Since we will be working over the internet from the comfort of your home, we are able to provide constant security for your property and companionship to your pets. - We have had and "pet-sitted" several Cats (norwegian forest cats & tabbies), Dogs (boarder collie crossed with german shepherd, boarder collie crossed with terrier), fish and gerbils. - We are both members of the EU and no paperwork is required for longer housesits in the EU. - Between the two of us, we are perfectly fluent in English, French and Swedish. We also possess functional Italian, Danish, and Norwegian and would be happy to practice them locally!
