Hello, my name is Janet. I am a 62 year old married, active woman who owns and loves dogs. I became a certified Pet Sitter with Pet Sitters International in 2013. At that time, I also completed Pet CPR & First Aid. I did some pet sitting for Housecarers and DogVacay a couple of years ago, on a part time basis. I am thrilled to be in a position now that I can accept short-term house sits to combine my love of adventure, travel and animals. My husband, of 41 years, has accompanied me occasionally on house sits to SantaFe. We are both caring, conscientious and reliable individuals and can provide excellent care for your pets. We have dealt with special needs dogs including my own rescued dogs. I have volunteered my time at a rescue shelter in Denver while I was between jobs. Your pets will be in great hands!
A little about me. I am originally from Boston, having moved to Denver 18 years ago. I love living in Colorado and I especially enjoy visiting the surrounding states of New Mexico, Arizona and California. My husband and I spend many summer weekends camping in our 5th Wheel with our beloved dogs, Zack and Zoey. Both our dogs are small and are of mixed breed. Zack, age 4, is a rescue dog. He is part terrier and part Italian greyhound. Zoey, age 7, came to us as a puppy from a local breeder. She is part Bichon and Shih Tzu. While I worked for Dog-Vacay I took care of many different breeds of dogs, with my specialty being small dogs. I have experience with larger dogs through HouseCarers. Our family has been a two-dog family for over the past twenty years. You can view some of the awesome dogs we have had over the years in our photos. In addition to our dog family members, we have raised three children, who are now living on their own.
I enjoy spending time reading, going for walks with our dogs, yoga, skiing, biking, hiking, kayaking and enjoying the beautiful outdoors with our 5th Wheel. I am an extremely responsible person and care for your pets as if they were my own. I am very tidy and will take great care of your home, bringing in your mail or helping you out in any other way I can. Of course, I would provide your dog(s) with daily walks, if you so desire. I do not smoke or drink and I am very health conscious.
