We are a professional couple who retired while in our late fifty's. Mary was a Registered Nurse and Ron was an Engineering Manager in the Defense industry working mostly in Communications and Missile Defense. Ron continues to work as a consultant from time to time.
Our careers have taken us to many interesting places including, Bermuda for ten yrs, California, England, Alabama, Marshall Islands for another ten yrs (great scuba diving) and finally Colorado for fourteen yrs. where we became pretty good at skiing. During this time we raised three boys and owned three dogs, several birds, rabbits, hamsters, tropical fish (huge tank) and horned toads (they needed live crickets to eat!) After retiring we moved to the Florida Gulf Coast ~ a good place to be for the winters~ and started to fulfill our dream of "really" traveling.
Over the past five years we have been both house sitters and house swappers numerous times, and therefore are accustomed to caring for homes and pets other than our own. Over the years we have owned four houses in addition to owning rental properties. Mary is the gardener and Ron is the fixer-up guy. We can handle most situations that can occur in and around a house. We have fixed up several houses and feel comfortable with plumbing, electrical, light carpentry and some appliance repair.
We continue enjoying new places and meeting new people, especially staying in small home-stay accommodations where we can feel a part of the community. Housesitting seems a perfect fit for our traveling lifestyle. We are both tidy, economical and will leave your home as good as, or better than, you left it all the while giving your pets and plants the loving care they deserve.
We are non-smokers and enjoy hiking, cooking, reading and movies. If you are looking for a mature and responsible couple to look after your property so you can relax while away we are willing and available.
