I’m also great with shy and sensitive animals, as I had a very shy cat myself. I understand that, with new people, they need to be given their space and allowed to make the first move.
One of the things I love about visiting other locales--whether in the US or abroad--is exposing myself to new perspectives. Wherever I roam, I try to be respectful of the local culture and neighborhood.
When I'm not writing, I like to go to the theater, check out film festivals, and make things with my hands. I've studied traditional hat making with two talented milliners, and I make everything from felt fedoras and cloches to straw sunhats. I'm also studying pattern-making, so I can eventually design my own clothes.
