I do not charge for out-of-state assignments, because I joined HouseCarers as a way to experience other cities and states. I do accept some local (Southern Nevada) house-sits, but I generally prefer only long-weekend assignments and I will request some nominal payment, since with local sits I do not get the benefit of a new experience geographically.
