We are looking for a mature, outgoing couple / person to live in our separate, comfortable, well-equipped guest house .
We have 4 dogs ( Siberian Huskies ) and 6 chickens that have a routine , are stress-free and very easy going. The dogs all live in an enclosed park like kennel. Mornings, the dogs are fed, kennel cleaned, change water in bowls. Even though we have a few senior dogs, there are no medications to be administered. Chickens are let out and eggs collected, inside of coop raked. The older dogs love to go for a short walk each day, the younger ones love to go longer and are great companions if you enjoy to hike the trails that surround our ranch. Early evening the dogs are fed again and social time is spent with them. We also ask you to collect the mail and water the house plants. From time to time you will need to clear the snow, we have a heated snow plough truck for this.
The 300+ acre ranch is situated in the Interior of British Columbia in the heart of the Cariboo. The town closest to us is approx. 25 minute drive where you will find everything you need from grocery stores, coffee shops, small boutiques, medical clinics together with schools, library and various churches.
The area offers hundreds of lakes for outstanding ice fishing, snow shoeing,ice skating cross country sking to name just a few. Hiking the extensive trails will bring you into breathtaking scenery. We have some equipment that you may use for these sports.
This house sitting task will vey likely appeal to people looking for a true Canadian experience who appreciate surroundings that is peaceful and secluded. We are open to all nationalities for anyone considering spending a longer period of time in this majestic country.
You should feel comfortable living in a fairly remote area; have a passion for animals, wildlife, and an outdoor enthusiast. A good sense of responsibility and a mechanical aptitude in certain situations.
This is a very easy, stress free house sit. You will need your own form of transportation as we cannot supply a vehicle for you. Internet is at your own expense in the guest house and connections are all set up . You may use the internet in the main house if you wish. There are lots of internet places in town to send and collect your . No smoking at all on the property. This is not a paid position .
