My husband and I have the most loving animals in our care, our 12 yr old cat, Vinnie, who is the size of a small dog is a grey long haired ball of affection, he lives outside full time as he sprays inside! He will sometimes spray on visitors car bumpers! I think he thinks he is a dog :)
Roy our 10 yr old german shepard, is the biggest sook ever, luckily his bark keeps strangers at bay if only they knew he would lick them to death when they got to close!
Following him everywhere is Summer our 8 yr old German S, girl, she will talk to you and constantly ask for rubs on the chest, she is a wanderer and needs to be under constant supervision when off her chain, she's really quick!
Ranger who is totally stick obsessed, is a border collie but super gentle and not as over excited as other border collies I've met, all 3 dogs live on the verandah together, they share their meals and have never ever growled once, you can take their bones while theyre eating them and they're fine, they are allowed to run free while we attend to the horses and chickens in the mornings and afternoons.
The chickens often sleep with the dogs.
All 3 big dogs know the basic commands of sit, stay, come, no.
We only have one baby that lives inside and thats our girl Coco she is a tea cup Pomeranian x Shih Tzu, she loves a cuddle, is super quiet to take out in her hand bag so quiet that most people don't notice her, till she moves her head, she rarely barks.
Our 3 horses are naturally trained and so they respond to body language, you can ask them to do things from a distance, like back up while you bring them dinner, move over, turn around etc.
Theyre super laid back, as are all of the animals here. I prefer they are not ridden as I am very protective of them and only ride them in rope halters and theyre never kicked and only ever rubbed not slapped, its all part of their natural training I've been doing with them for the past 9 years.
Our 20yr old Standard bred gelding, Chester, LOVES his food more than life itself, when he has food he closes his eyes and enjoys every last chew, your wish is his command while he eats, he loves to be brushed.
Our 8 yr old Thoroughbred Mare, Ginger is the boss of the herd, she is the one who has had the most training of all 3 and is very clever at communicating with you, she too loves her food and will allow you to do anything around her while she eats, she's not affectionate and does not enjoy being brushed, she prefers her own space and just likes to be fed :)
Our almost 4 yr old, Warmblood mare, Rhythm is super affectionate and will literally come up to you for a smooch and a neck, head, chest scratch.
Then we have chickens and a Rooster Reggie he is not aggressive and will take the girls to the other side of their huge pen while you collect the eggs.
We've had absolute learners care for everyone and have loved it, never had any accidents and yip lost Summer for a day every time!
We have a housekeeper who comes once a week and we're happy for her to keep coming at our expense.
We will leave keys to our brand new triton so the animal food can be carried in the back, we order Coles online and the truck delivers to our address, we are business owners so we're always quite busy, foxtel, wifi incl.
