We are a responsible semi-retired non-smoking couple. We have been married for 33 years, and are currently on hiatus cruising on a sailboat in the Pacific side of Central America. As such, with some advance notice, we can be reasonably flexible with dates, and extremely flexible with location. Our primary interest in housesitting is the opportunity to see, visit and experience different cultures and geography.
We had the opportunity to get employment in the Cayman Island in One of our personal goals was to cruise on a sailboat for a while. We've now been at that for a little over a year full time, and though we will still continue to do that, we're expecting it to be more seasonal. We hope we can also use housesitting as an opportunity to see some places that might be of interest to us to locate to permanently.
We would also be interested in using it to gain exposure to potential property management assignments.
We have owned several houses and rented while in the Cayman Islands. I've been in for over 30 years in a wide variety of positions, and also managed a 71 unit condominium complex in Winter Park, Colorado, USA for a couple of years. I've always been very proactive in terms of maintaining things both in the homes we've owned, as well those we've rented.
In addition to being responsible and healthy, my extensive experience in the construction industry give me the ability to take care of just about anything and everything around a house, including, but not limited to:
Electrical, Plumbing and heating/cooling systems Solar system installation, repair and maintenance Carpentry, concrete, masonry, flooring, roofing... pretty much everything around almost any kind of structure.
We are also both experienced business management professionals, so if necessary, we have the knowledge and ability to provide that as well as marketing assistance if it happened to be an ongoing business concern in need of help.
We were both raised in a rural setting as children, so we both have experience being around not only pets, but livestock in general. I also did a lot of farm construction and repair, and livestock confinement systems in our early married life in Nebraska.
