Hello!
We are Rob and Zoe from Australia and we would like to care for your home. Having dedicated the past ten years to work and study we are seeking a change of pace and scenery. We are both work from home researchers, writers and consultants.
At the moment we are planning six to twelve months overseas and we are very interested in receiving offers from interested house owners.
Together we've house sat or looked after properties in Sydney, Illawarra region, Jervis Bay (also in Australia) and even the Maldives and Thailand. At these properties we've looked after mainly dogs, fish, cats and birds. (Maldivian geckos we don't count.)
In Australia house sitting means keeping a premises safe from native wildlife which occasionally venture onto properties like kangaroos, possums, wombats, kookaburras, snakes and spiders - as you can see, we're used to dealing with some of the poisonous predators in the world. (You're probably think Rob is kind of like Steve Irwin, right? He's more like Indiana Jones, his childhood hero.)
House sits in Australia also mean we've had to respond with great care to fire warnings and the need to fire-proof homes where possible. It's not all about dealing with danger in Oz though - we've looked after pools and spas too. We want to use them, after all!
Zoe brings over five years of house-sitting and au-pair experience. A 'clean freak' with great attention to detail, Zoe will leave no surface undusted in your home!
Rob is the consummate handyman, with a love of yard work, gardening and animals. He is very particular about security.
We are happy to take on the responsibility of running your household, ensuring your home is maintained while you are away. We can forward mail, look after pets, arrange for minor repairs and ensure ongoing cleanliness. And of course will provide you with regular updates on how it's all going!
We have worked in not-for profit organisations, public service, academia, news journalism and overseas aid work. We have travelled, lived and worked in the following countries: Thailand, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Laos, Vietnam, Maldives, UK, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Germany and Greece (in fact most European countries).
We love finding out about new cultures, languages and countries and are very interested in history and the arts.
