Beautiful home situated on the Pokomoke River, surrounded by farmland and forest. Very quiet and private. Ideal for those seeking a romantic retreat for the Holidays. Located within three hours to Washington DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia and Annapolis, and a half day's drive to New York.
We are looking for someone to care for our dog and cat and indoor plants while we are away. Tasha is a farm dog and enjoys walks down the lane. She is very low maintainence and loves belly rubs and treats. She is an outside/garage dog. Dottie the cat lives indoors and has reached her golden years. She will simply need regular feeding and changing of her litter and prefers to spend her day napping with some occasional company if she decides to warm up to you.
The house has a sunroom for morning tea, an open great room with a cathedral ceiling and a pellet stove for cozy nights, a master bath with double tub, ping pong and outdoor seating by the river.
An outdoor dog would be considered given the right fit with Tasha and only with prior approval. Please no other animals. The housesitter will need to provide his or her own transportation, as this is a very rural area with no public transit and is not walkable/bikeable.
Snow Hill is a quaint historic town 30 minutes from the city of Salisbury, which has all major services, including a university, coffee shops, restaurants, hospital and a small airport. It is 30 minutes to the islands of Assateague and Ocean City, which are beautiful to walk during the winter months. In 15 minutes one can visit historic Berlin and the Atlantic Hotel, as well as enjoy the popular restaurants and local bakery.
** Please note: Internet will be unavailable at the house unless one has a verizon hotspot. There is internet access available in the Snow Hill public library, as well as many coffee shops and cafes in Salisbury, Ocean City and Berlin.
