Need a sitter for Thanksgiving week, November 19 to 26. You're welcome to show up June 19 to receive instructions and keys. We will be home the morning of the 27th, so leaving the 26th or early 27th would be fine. Lots of day trip opportunities without living in the traffic of big- city Southern California. Oak Glen is just right up the road about 5 miles, Palm Springs is about 30 miles and Los Angeles/Disney is about 75 miles (Santa Monica beach just a little farther), 50 miles from Big Bear, and about 60 miles from Joshua Tree National Park. We do not live near public transportation so you will need your own car.
We're looking for someone who enjoys caring for chickens and outside cats (no animals inside). We can show you how to care for the chickens, if you have no experience. It's pretty easy!
Looking to exchange a free place to stay for your sitting services, if you'd like to visit the area for a retreat. We live somewhat in the country. Our friends call our place a little farm, which is kind of how it feels due to the roaming chickens. It's quiet and our neighbors are friendly. It's a half acre of land with an 1,800 square-foot home with 3 bedrooms, 2-bathrooms. It's within a 2-minute drive of great Mexican food and sushi, and 5 minutes from a big grocery store, so we're not THAT far in the country. We have Wifi, laundry and other normal house stuff (see photos).

We generally don't use the heating and cooling, as we have decent weather most of the time, so if you need to run the a/c all day or heat, this might not be the best place for you. We just ask that you'd be as considerate about our utilities as you would be about your own. And no shoes on the carpet, please.
