I am a retired commercial helicopter pilot, having flown in various parts of the world for over 10 years. I have a Master of Arts degree in Environmental Education, and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Flight Technology, am an MSU Master Naturalist, and a veteran of the US Air Force Security Police. I just completed a school year of teaching 6th grade in Honduras. I will arrive in Alaska on the ferry on August 21, 2014.
I am an experienced housesitter, responsible, neat, clean, and orderly, and will respect your property and belongings. I am 50 years old and I do not smoke, drink, or use drugs. Plants will flourish, pets will be loved, mail will be secure, and I can stay in touch with you via e-mail or by phone as often or as little as you wish.
I have traveled extensively and am flexible to most types of living situations and locations. I speak some Spanish and Russian. I grew up with a pet menagerie including barnyard animals, water fowl, fish, birds, reptiles, rodents, and of course dogs and cats.
I'm a homeowner myself of a three bedroom home with attached two car garage on five acres in southern Michigan, and have extensive experience with gardening and houseplants.
My son (third grade) and I most recently completed a housesit in Portland, Oregon caring for three cats, three dogs, and a parrot. My husband and I also did three housesits in Nova Scotia, one of them repeated several times. We did everything from caring for a herd of cattle to keeping a house ready for real estate showings.
