In 2004, we moved to New Orleans for the year round sailing. After Katrina and her sister, Rita, came to visit, we salvaged what we could and sold the house. We have been house sitting ever since, with occasional visits to our children. Not having many possessions if oddly liberating. One of our long term home owners had this to say: "It's hard to imagine that we could have found a better couple to trust with our pets and house for the 5 months we were away starting in August 2006. In short, if you're looking for outstanding house sitters, you have found them." We have traveled in Europe and North America and would enjoy being able to stay in one place long enough to thoroughly explore. We speak English and basic French, but have found ourselves able to get by nicely in countries where other languages are spoken. We have had housesits in different places, from North Carolina to Normandy, France. All were enjoyable, as well as being fun places to explore. We enjoy pets (cats, dogs, birds, fish, goats and chickens) and gardening, both vegetable and landscape. We are experienced at home maintenance and remodeling, having owned our own home for most of our 40 year marriage. We enjoy sailing, birdwatching, reading, hiking, cooking, wine tasting and exploring new places. Non-smokers. Good health. Excellent references. We would treat your home and pets with respect and loving care.
