I'm an animal lover who is looking for a house/pet sit where animals are present. If the sit is more than two hours or so from the Western NC area, it should be at least two weeks in length.
I can be contacted by at or by messaging through this web site. I am located in Asheville, NC when not doing a sit.
I have references readily available in format or via phone from my most recent clients.
The photos in the gallery are of pets that I have sat for and are used with the permission of the clients.
I do not charge a set fee for my house/pet sitting; I do it on a service-for-shelter basis but appreciate a tip if the job is satisfactory.
Please read further for information about my house sitting experience and qualifications.
My first house sit was from Aug 06 - May 07 in the Ozarks with two cats, three dogs, and a few chickens.
I then went to northern Maryland farm country June 07 - Sept 07 to do a sit for three very special cats.
Winter '07-'08 I did a month-long sit in central NJ with four indoor cats and four outdoor cats.
The outdoor cats were ferals that I fed and one of the indoor cats was a feral that was in the process of being tamed.
I spent a month again with the cats in Maryland in March - April 2008 and again in the summer June 2008 through mid-October 2008.
In March-April 2009 I did a two-week sit for the neighbors of the Maryland farm cats involving two dogs, two cats, three horses, four hens, and two rats.
I did a sit in Dallas, TX for five weeks in June & July 2009 for a kitty who was recovering from injuries and surgery after an encounter with a car.
I did a three-week sit at the farm in Maryland again for both households on the property in August 2009.
Locally, I did a sit for two cats in Asheville Oct. 8-15, 2009 and repeat sits Dec Jan. 12, 2009 , March 6- and May 6-July .
I just finished doing a repeat sit in northern Maryland mid-July through mid-September.
I worked in the past for a pet sitting service in Houston, TX as well as volunteering for a wildlife rehabilitation group there.
I owned my own house for ten years and am sensible about dealing with home maintenance issues.
I am comfortable giving medication or injections to pets (my own last cat became diabetic during the final 18 months of her life.) OK, it's true that I've met a few cats that turn into shredding machines and I was not able to give them meds but that's the exception.
I have lots of experience bathing cats and will be happy to bathe yours if needed.
I like to spend lots of time hanging out with the animals when I house sit, so you can be assured they will have someone to give them plenty of attention and petting if I am your sitter (also conversation if they are the talkative type.)
I am interested in cat rescue, so if you have fosters or partially-tamed ferals that need caring for, I would be interested in that opportunity.
I like feeding and watching wild birds and worked at a Wild Birds Unlimited store in the past, so if you have an elaborate bird feeder setup, I will be happy to keep it stocked.
One of my favorite parts of pet sitting is taking photographs of the animals, so if you are gone for an extended period of time, I'll be happy to pics to you or to put them in an online photo album to help you keep in touch with your pets.
I'd like to have the opportunity to spend time with your pets and to help them have as stress- free an experience as possible while you are away.
Please me at or message me via this service if you are interested in discussing your needs for a house/pet sitter.
