I'm a good-natured, quiet, tidy, single woman with a degree in
home economics and hold US citizenship (have passport) with
Permanent Resident Status in Canada since . I have
hospitality in my blood: I once owned a bed a breakfast for
authors on book tours in Toronto. I don't drink, smoke or have
any vices or addictions.... and am energy-conscious.
In my long career, I’ve been a teacher, author, speaker, media
guest, and crisis counselor. I’ve never been in trouble with the
law, and I have a perfect driving record of years. I earn my
living as a writer and consultant and drive a cargo van (my
“poorwoman’s RV”), which contains everything I need to live and
work. I have made choices that allow me to work from anywhere.
I love animals and very recently lost the last of my cats, so
after years of constant furry companionship, I am now pet-
less and happy to look after your cats and small dogs if you must
leave them at home. I also look after mail, deliveries, and keep
your home safe and secure. I have even been trusted to do
banking for some B & B hosts.
More importantly I am hyper-vigilant (a good thing) and am
quick to notice if a cat is unwell. I have taken sick animals to the
vet when the owner hadn't recognized early symptoms of
conjunctivitis, tapeworms, fleas, etc. I have almost no social life
- a benefit to you - and am comfortable having cats on my lap
or desk as I write. Even the most skittish and cranky cats warm
up to me in time.
I almost forgot to mention that I'm handy: I created a service
called Handy Ande, to promote my skills as de-clutterer,
organizer and home stager. And I fix things: not just band-aid
fixes, but proper ones: toilet and faucet repair, wallpaper
removal, interior painting, cleaning, furniture assembly, etc. You
may not need these services, but you should know that someone
capable and competent is looking after your home.
In your absence, your home and animals will be in good hands
with me. All my belongings are in storage in Erie Pennsylvania
and I am interested in local house-sitting assignments of a week
to many months.
PS The book I'm writing is "The Kindness Experiment: How
treating others better is in your best interest." Homeowners who
invite me to housesit for a month or more will receive a copy -if
they want one - when it’s completed. |
