Require house/pet sitter for about 2 weeks
beginning about December 26th, 2009. Date will be
within a day or two of then and will be firmed up
shortly.
Our home is 20 minutes from downtown Boulder in
the mountains outside of Nederland. Large house on
private acreage backing to forest service land.
Large television, dvd and vcr players, but no TV
service. Our home has equipment for an internet
cooperative
with 3 T1 lines coming in, so we have high-speed
wireless throughout the house. We also have a gym-
quality treadmill for workouts in cold weather.
Nederland is 15 minutes away and has a grocery,
gas stations, video store, small library,
restaurants, great coffee shops, weekend movies.
Animals: 3 dogs, Rotty cross, Golden cross and
young English Bulldog. One adult bearded dragon.
We also have 3 aquariums and a couple of frogs.
You must be comfortable with handling bugs for
feeding.
Ideal housesitter will have extreme patience with
a dog that was abused and acts like he expects a
beating, in addition to caring for a geriatric
dog. Walks with the dogs are appreciated, though
in winter it may not be possible. Ideal
housesitter will not wig out over an occasional
wildlife sighting on the
property (generally a bobcat).
Our home provides lots of windows with sun, no
light pollution to interfere with stars, true
quiet, hiking trails, mountain biking trails, and
space to gather your thoughts. We're close enough
to Boulder to take advantage of all it has to
offer without being in the middle of it all.
One other thing to seriously consider for
being here in December is a reliable 4 x 4
vehicle. Our roads are well maintained by the
county, but in case of a really big snowfall you
may be stuck inside for a day or more. If you
don't have 4 x 4 and don't care about being stuck
for a few days, then it's not a problem. |
