Caretaker Needed for Property Near Portales NM.
One or two caretakers are necessary to care
primarily for a seven-acre area (plus driveway
and fencing) within a larger property on the
high plains of southeastern NM. Location is
thirty miles SW of Portales. Rural, safe,
secure, quiet.
You must have reliable transportation. Most of
the property is in a soil reserve. Residence may
be either a late model, all-electric mobile home
(central heat and air) or a twenty-foot travel
trailer, depending on which is available. Ten RV
hookups are also available. Large garden area
exists, if you like to garden. Three workshops
exist. Rainwater catchment system with storage
tanks. Tractor is available for occasional
mowing of seven-acres and driveway maintenance
(about five times annually). Plenty of storage
and covered parking. Climate is moderate, non-
humid, lots of sunshine, occasional light snow
in winter.
You would pay for your own electricity and
provide maintenance and grounds upkeep, and
do non-complex projects in exchange for rent-
free housing. Phone and high speed internet
(satellite) access are available and would be at
your expense. Security deposit is one hundered
dollars. Electricity deposit is fifty dollars.
Ideal for someone with an existing income. No
salary is involved. There will be plenty of free
time to pursue your interests. No pets, parties,
drugs, tobacco, problematic alcohol, illegal
items, heavy scents, open flames, or children.
Compatible disabilities are ok. Mature behavior
is required. This property is barely for sale,
but is highly unlikely to sell given today's
market.
Should it sell while you are there, you may be
able to continue residing there because most
rural properties need additional help. A
position for you may be available for you
