My boyfriend and I have to straighten out a real
estate matter in Central America and then want
to stay on for a bit of sunshine. We want to
leave as early as the middle of November, and
will return in time for him to attend a class
that starts on January 25th. We are looking for
someone tidy and responsible, well, persnikety
really,to look out for the house and its two
four-legged inhabitants who won't be traveling
with us, as well as the many plants.
The PROS: the house is large and beautiful, has
tons of upscale amenities like a heated bathroom
floor, sweeping city views and is generally a
lovely environment. It is seven miles from the
center of downtown and is just blocks from the
new light rail. It is located in the Columbia
City neighborhood which (in my very biased
opinion) is perhaps the coolest neighborhood in
Seattle. One of my cats is shy, trained to use
the toilet (not litter box, but toilet!), is a
cuddler when prompted, and demands little in the
way of time or attention.
The CONS: I do not allow meat (other than fish)
in my home, there are tenants in the basement
(which limits the amount of dancing you can do
in the living room), and the other siamese cat
that comes with the housesitting job is older,
possibly senile and/or hearing-impaired, and
tends to be both needy and vocal (in that
distinctly siamese way). He tends to be more
active at night and can be disruptive when it
comes to sleep. He currently is on a regimen of
homeopathic remedies aimed at quieting his
outbursts and may or may not need to be
medicated as a part of his care while we are
gone.
So, if you think you might like to spend the
holidays in Seattle in a lovely home and know
yourself to have patience with animals--contact
me for more details. |
