NOVEMBER 19 UPDATE -- Thanks Everyone. I have
found someone for this housesit.
Peaceful country farm on Vashon Island in Puget
Sound requires animal friendly person or couple to
take care of a sweet, small cocker spaniel who
requires medications and daily walks. Also, the
farm has one llama and five sheep who are very low
maintenance.
I am needing someone from about January 12th until
March 19th. There is room in the house if you need
to come earlier and/or want to stay later, but I
am flying out on the 14th and returning on the
18th of March.
I am looking for someone who wants a place to live
in exchange for taking care of the dog and keeping
an eye on the house. I will pay for the normal
utilities during your stay.
Preference given to individuals who have had
country living experience ( woodstove heating,
septic system and gardening knowledge. )
The dog is very sweet and takes her medications
without any problems, but she is rather food
obsessed and likes to be taken along rather than
left behind. However, she can be left alone if all
the wastebaskets are emptied - she eats paper!
This 3 acre property with a sunny southern
exposure, has a small pond and gardens which
require very little looking after in winter.
The original farmhouse was built in 1903 but has
all modern comforts which include internet hookup,
but NO television except for watching videos.
Vashon Island, pop. 10,000, is known for its
population of artists, organic gardeners and
"unique individuals." All the stores and
facilities one might require including an
excellent library are located on the Island.
This Island is only accessible by ferry - about a
20 minute ride to either Seattle or Tacoma or the
Olympic peninsula. It has tremendous community
spirit and is a very friendly place to live. You
might want to look it up on the web.
If you were interested in this farmsit when it was
first listed in June and asked to be on a list for
the winter months, I will try to write you, but
you might want to refresh my memory anyway.
