Our home is an older home,built in 1966 set in a quiet area in the older part of town. The house is located approximately iklm from the post office. Our requirements for housitter are that they take care of our gardens and home. We request that only non smokers apply as neither of us smoke and we do not have any smokers in our home. We would prefer that the sitters do not bring pets with them on the housesit.
There is a large two bay shed with carport where sitters would be able to house their vehicle during their stay. Our area is the Whitsundays so some 20klm away is the well known Airlie Beach and then we also have easy access to the 74 Islands of the Whitsunday group. Boat cruises depart daily from Abel Point Marina and are good value. Apart from the Islands we are within easy distance from the Eunguella Range which is the top of the Pioneer Valley a large Cane growing area near Mackay. This is a nice place to visit on our hot dry days as it is usually much cooler up on the range, a diversion to Finch Hatton Gorge is also reccommended. To the west of Proserpine is the Peter Faust Dam renowned for the large Barramundie caught there. An impoundment permit is required for the dam as it is a stocked fishery. The town of Proserpine has all facilities and there is a large Centro shopping centre at Cannonvale.
