INTRODUCTION: Though I value that I'm highly
dependable and detail driven, I value most that I
have common sense. No homeowner can anticipate
everything in the list of duties they leave for a
housesitter. It's common sense that knows how to
deal with surprises.
Here's a typical comment from one of my most
regular clients:

call of duty and expectations. Wow! On a scale
of 1-10 for housecarers, you rate an 11; your
work was done thoughtfully and skillfully. It
was a thrill to get back to such a lovingly

EXPERIENCE: I've tended homes for going on 6
years, any of whom are willing to recommend me or
call for my return. Contact me for a means to
contact them.
RESTRICTIONS: I only accept assignments of less
than three weeks and ones that allow me the use
of unlimited, wireless internet access.
HOMECARE: I treat inanimate things as gently and
respectfully as I do animate beings. I always
leave a home clean and welcoming for its owners.
ANIMAL CARE: My skill with animals (domestic,
farm and exotic) comes from being a zookeeper
and ranchhand in my younger years and from being
a lifetime pet owner myself. I accept assignments
with none or one dog only.
FAMILY: My husband supports my times away as he
also enjoys quietude with his creative projects.
Occasionally, he visits me on a homecare, as a
mini-break from his work as a civil engineer.
GET-ACQUAINTED: Outside a 40-mile radius, I
trust other methods for getting to know each
other, such as email, phone and references.
ASSURANCE: I have a contract available, though
only once has it been requested or used.
COMPENSATION: I do not charge, but, much like a
babysitter, I anticipate tips. Historically,
home owners have tipped me from $20 to $30 per
night, for assignments of 6 nights or less, and
$15 to $25 per night, for assignments of 7 nights
or more.
CANCELLATIONS: If you must cancel within 6 nights
prior to an assignment we've confirmed verbally
or in writing, I would hope that my scheduling to
accommodate your needs would be acknowledged and
tipped.
In summary, I believe in honor and take my faith
seriously.
