We are an artist couple -- Maura and Daniel -- who make independent documentary films together. We are currently based in the American South after many years living in NYC. We travel frequently while shooting our projects and collaborating with other artists and musicians, and we find that taking care of other people's spaces and animals is a beautiful way to ground ourselvse in the communities where we are filming and be of service while we edit.
Maura spent the summer and fall 2018 traveling the country making a film about medicine women, and she dog-, (rabbit-!), and house-sat for people she met along the way. It was incredibly rewarding. Since then we have done several house sits together, taking care of animals and a jungle of houseplants.
This year, we are planning to house sit while we shoot and edit a film around the US about how people are reinventing themselves since the pandemic. Exact location is less important than being the right fit for the needs of the house and/or animals, so we are open to where opportunity takes us.
We are direct communicators, patient, and responsible. Maura worked as a nanny for many years before becoming a film producer, and Daniel is a devoted dog lover -- we don't have a dog of our own solely because we travel so much for work. It always feels like an honor to care for another's loved ones and home spaces while they are away. We are grateful to be able to spend a little time in your world.
Thank you for reading. We look forward to connecting!
